I take cleanliness extremely seriously, both for my own personal safety as well as the safety of my clients. I am constantly washing my hands before and after each client. I always wear a face mask and a fresh set of gloves. Nothing that comes into contact with your skin has touched another person.

All of my tools and supplies that get reused are washed with soap and water, dried off, placed inside individually sealed pouches, and sterilized in a medical grade autoclave. While this is common in dental offices and required in clinics and hospitals, most electrologists omit this step either due to the monetary cost or the extra effort. If I accidentally drop a tool on the floor, I consider it soiled and immediately unwrap a new sterilized tool.
All disposable items are stored in individually sealed and sterilized packaging, such as probes, and they are discarded after each use. Sometimes, I will need to use more than one probe per session. I never reuse probes!

As soon as I arrive in the morning and in between each client, I completely disinfect all surfaces in the room. This includes the floor, all surfaces, my machine and all cables attached to it, my lamp, my chair, and the bed itself.

I also have a HEPA air filter running constantly in the treatment room to remove particulates and odors from the air. I use medical-grade HEPA filters that capture 99.97% of harmful airborne particles down to 0.1 microns, such as pet hair, dander, pollen, dust, and smoke.
